Wade Andrew Butcher grew up on the Florida Space Coast and spent the better part of his career as a scientist and technologist with a master’s degree in engineering. He has developed many products, holds seventy granted patents, and has communicated countless ideas through writing. Not fully satisfied by the boundaries of his field, he pursued an MFA degree in creative writing. Now, he explores inventive concepts in the nebulous intersections of science and philosophy, of the real and the unexplained. He writes about preternatural dread, weaving in themes of adversity and loss. He enjoys being prophetic with imaginary phenomenon, believing that our observable world is only the tip of an iceberg. Often in his stories, there are realisms such as strong family bonds, blind ambitions, the search for purpose and identity, and other ideas rooted in the study of psychology. He can often be found on Long Island looking under rocks, riding one of his bikes as fast as possible, or listening to seashells with his granddaughters.
